@144mbnewI wore a Monet shawl the day after my baptism. I was baptized at the Easter Vigil, and the next day I went to adoration. His work has always felt like evidence of God's presence to me -- the way the light moves in his paintings, the way he saw the world as saturated and alive. Wearing it in the cathedral felt right. It was my way of carrying that attention to beauty into a space that was already full of it. In the other picture, my godmother and a sister -- the people who walked me into this.@144mbI wore a Monet shawl the day after my baptism. We visited Sue in San Francisco right before retirement. I wore the same navy tee I wear everywhere -- nothing special, nothing planned. My wife grabbed her blue jacket because it was cold by the water. We took the cable car because you have to. The clothing doesn't matter. What matters is that we were finally there, finally had the time, and someone we love was waiting at the other end of the trip.
