Just retired, finally taking the trips we kept putting off. The clothes don't matter much to me — being there, with the people I love, does.

We visited Sue in San Francisco right before retirement. I wore the same navy tee I wear everywhere — nothing special, nothing planned. My wife grabbed her blue jacket because it was cold by the water. We took the cable car because you have to.

What matters is that we were finally there, finally had the time, and someone we love was waiting at the other end of the trip.

A new Catholic, baptized at the Easter Vigil. I see the world the way Monet painted it — saturated, alive, lit from within — and I try to carry that attention everywhere I go.

I wore a Monet shawl the day after my baptism. I was baptized at the Easter Vigil, and the next day I went to adoration.
